You may clean big appliances at your home. You may clean your oven or freezer often. Even, you may remove all the dirt from your fridge. But, do you clean the small appliances at your home? Many small appliances are used by you everyday. Unfortunately, you often forget them to clean. So, some useful tips are given below to keep these small appliances clean.
The Blender and The Food Processor
To clean a blender/food processor, you should disassemble its parts. Then you can wash these parts with warm soapy water. If the parts are dishwasher safe, then you can clean these parts in your dishwasher. You should also clean the base of the blender. Take hot water and dish soap. Then, soak a dishrag in the water and clean the base gently. It can be difficult to reach the blender’s or the food processor’s corners. In that case, you can use a new toothbrush to clean those areas. A dish brush (small) can also be used to clean it completely.
The Toaster
You should never clean your toaster while it’s plugged. So, unplug it. Now, look inside the toaster. You can see bread crumbs or small chunks of bread in the toaster. Take a toothbrush and clean all these small parts of foods. Many toaster models come with a removable crumb tray. If your toaster has such a tray, then you should remove it. Thus, It will be easier for you to clean the toaster. Just flip the toaster and all the food parts will fall into the garbage can. Now, you should shake the toaster mildly to bring out all the food parts/crumbs. After that, you should prepare a solution with water and dish shop (one or two drops). Next, clean the toaster with this solution and rub the outside of the toaster with a clean cloth to make it shinier.
The Standing Mixer
A standing mixer is exposed to butter, flour, and many types of food ingredients in your kitchen. Hence, it becomes dirty. To keep it clean, you can wipe it carefully after using it. However, your standing mixer may have some dried foods on it. To remove these foods, you need to soften them. Soak a rag in warm water and use it to soften the foods. You can use a toothpick to reach difficult places. You can also use a sharp wooden skewer to clean the mixer minutely. But, you shouldn’t use a scrubbing pad to clean the mixer. It can ruin the enamel coating on the mixer.
The Coffee Maker
First of all, mix water and vinegar. Then, you should fill your coffeemaker’s tank with this mixture. Now, switch on the coffee maker and run it. You should continue to empty it and run it with the same mixture again and again. Your coffee maker may have some removable parts. You should remove them. After that, you should soak these parts in the hot water. The hot water should also have some drops of dish soap in it. Now, you should not leave any vinegar in the coffee maker. Hence, you should run it with cold water. Thus, the coffee maker will have no vinegar in it. However, your coffee maker may have a deep layer of mineral. In that case, you should use good quality descaler (for descaling). You can use it instead of vinegar.
The Portable Fan
The parts of a portable fan can be easily removed. So, disassemble the parts and use a vacuum cleaner to clean all the dust. Then, fill a bathtub with warm soapy water. Now, immerse the parts (blades and grills) in the bathtub. To clean the motor, cord, and the base of the fan, you can use a rag. Soak the rag in hot and soapy water. Then, clean the base of the portable fan.
